Your Engagement Ring Only Uses Fairtrade & Fairmined Gold
Fairtrade Certified Gold ensures that the miners receive fair wages, work in safe conditions, free from exploitative practices and, also promotes responsible mining practices that minimise environmental damage. I am now using Fairmined Gold, a certification system specifically focused on responsible artisanal and small-scale mining of gold. It certifies that the gold has been mined in a manner that respects human rights, social development, and environmental protection including mercury-free mining methods and the use of responsible chemicals and restoration of mined areas. Fairmined Gold is traceable from the mine to the market, providing transparency and accountability.
Your Engagement Ring Only Uses Traceable Canadamark Diamonds
Canadamark diamonds are among the most responsibly sourced diamonds in the world, each one completely natural and free of all treatments, whilst meeting high standards for clarity, cut and colour. Canadamark supports environmental protection, fair wages, safe working conditions, and community development. When set into 18ct Fairmined gold they become the most ethical engagement rings in the world today. Each diamond, of 0.3 carat weight and above, is given a certificate card to allow tracing from mine to the finished polished diamond. It then has a Canadamark logo and unique serial number laser inscribed onto the girdle of the diamond.
Your Engagement Ring Only Uses Gemstones with Proven Ethical Sourcing.
I source from the gem fields of Sri Lanka, Montana USA, Queensland, Madagascar and use Greenland Rubies.
These areas are renowned for their high-quality gems, traceability, and good practices to minimize environmental impact, such as land reclamation and water management techniques.
In all these gem producing regions, there is an emphasis on responsible sourcing that provides transparency and assurance regarding the ethical and sustainable production of gemstones. These initiatives aim to protect the environment, support local communities, and ensure fair labour practices throughout the supply chain.
How Can You Tell If an Engagement Ring Is Truly Ethical?
I go to great lengths to ensure transparency and traceability using reputable certificated sources and engaging directly with suppliers.
I studiously avoid conflict materials sourced from war zones or associated with human rights abuses. I check for responsible mining practices including environmentally friendly extraction methods, proper waste management, and fair labour practices.
Everything that goes into your ethical engagement ring is sustainable and fully traceable to make your ring as beautiful on the inside as it looks in the final design.
