Mission Statement
To create authentic artisanal jewellery using ethically sourced and socially responsible materials that benefit the lives of small-scale miners, local communities, the planet and its wildlife.
Ethics and sustainability are at the heart of everything I do. I am committed to using materials that honour both people and the planet, ensuring that every gemstone, diamond, and piece of gold is responsibly sourced. By prioritising provenance, transparency, and craft, I create engagement rings, wedding rings, and fine jewellery with genuine integrity behind every piece.
I am a member of the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM), the globally recognised body promoting ethical standards in artisanal and small-scale mining. Through this membership, I support initiatives that empower mining communities, ensure fair working conditions, reduce environmental harm, and promote traceability across the gold supply chain.

Fairmined Gold supports Sustainable Develpment Goals
Fairmined Gold contributes to multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through responsible artisanal mining.
Single Mine Origin (SMO) Gold
For my cast pieces, which make up around 10% of my work, I use Single Mine Origin (SMO) gold. SMO gold is sourced from member mines that meet the strictest internationally recognised responsibility standards, including the World Gold Council’s Responsible Gold Mining Principles.
Every ounce of SMO gold is fully traceable to its source mine, with an externally audited chain of custody from mine to maker. The mines commit to comprehensive, independently audited environmental and social performance data, with quarterly updates on their initiatives.
Between Fairmined and SMO, every gram of gold in my studio can be traced back to a responsible source.
Ethical Diamonds
I work with four ethical diamond paths, each with its own character and provenance story:
- Heirloom and antique diamonds — including rose cut, old mine cut, and old European cut diamonds, sourced through my trusted vintage dealer or set from your own family heirloom
- CanadaMark diamonds — fully traceable natural diamonds mined in Canada’s Northwest Territories under strict environmental and labour standards
- Ocean Diamonds — marine diamonds retrieved by professional divers from the inshore ocean around southern Africa, with a Certificate of Provenance for each stone
- Lab-grown diamonds — available as part of my bespoke service, chemically identical to mined diamonds with no mining footprint
Ethical Sourcing of Sapphires
My sapphires come from four traceable sources, each with its own character.
Montana, USA — Sapphires from Montana are mined under federal and state environmental and labour regulations. Operations emphasise land restoration, fair labour, and minimal ecological disruption.
Sri Lanka — Ceylon sapphires are traditionally mined by small-scale artisanal miners under regulated conditions, supporting local communities and fair trade practices.
Queensland, Australia — Parti sapphires from the Queensland Gemfields are hand-mined, cut, and polished by a small husband-and-wife team I work with directly, ensuring full traceability and a genuinely small-scale supply chain.
Chimwadzulu, Malawi — Chimwadzulu sapphires are ethically sourced through licensed operations that ban child labour, support local development, and invest in environmental rehabilitation.
Ethical Packaging
My wool packaging is made by a local knitter in the UK using yarn from The Grey Sheep Co., a British yarn producer at Well Manor Farm on the Surrey-Hampshire border, known for their ethical and sustainable approach to wool production.
The Grey Sheep Co. practises traditional, low-impact farming that prioritises animal welfare. Their sheep form part of a conservation plan including managed grazing and the restoration of traditional pastures, supporting biodiversity and allowing natural behaviours. Shearing is conducted by a dedicated shepherdess, Susie, with care and respect for the animals.
The supply chain is transparent and localised: each fleece is hand-sorted on the farm, washed in Yorkshire, spun in Devon, and hand-dyed back at the farm. This approach minimises transport emissions and supports local artisans. By reverting agricultural land to traditional pastures and avoiding intensive farming, The Grey Sheep Co. contributes meaningfully to environmental conservation and the return of native flora and fauna.
Made By Hand in London
Every piece of jewellery is handcrafted by me in my London studio, made in small batches or to order. Many of my engagement rings are one of a kind, created with care for the planet and its inhabitants. This slow, considered approach means minimal waste, no mass production, and a real commitment to responsible craftsmanship.
Small-batch making ensures less environmental impact and eliminates overproduction — each piece exists for a reason. Made-to-order options offer a more personal connection to your jewellery while helping reduce unnecessary resource use and surplus.
This is sustainable jewellery rooted in honesty and respect: for the materials, the process, and the people who wear it. By choosing ethically made jewellery, you are supporting independent, mindful design, and wearing something truly unique.
